The Balanced
Scorecard Readiness Quiz Overview
The Balanced
Scorecard Readiness Quiz begins with a brief overview of the reasons
why an organization exists (its mission) and an examination of the
strategic objectives that specify what the organization must
accomplish to fulfill its mission. This leads to the definition of
organizational effectiveness and the development of a continuous
improvement model for the course. The alternatives for arranging
individuals and groups with respect to the tasks they perform are
considered as part of organizational
design.
Key personal
characteristics of organizational members (e.g., abilities,
attitudes, personality, and culture) are identified and examined to
understand how these factors influence the effectiveness of
organizations and their members during the Balanced Scorecard
Readiness Quiz. The importance of organizational culture is
explored. Special attention is then given to the role of groups in
organizations, the stages of group development, and the actions that
can support the development of effective groups.
Issues related
to individual and group decision-making and problem-solving are
examined, and tools are presented to support these processes. The
realities of interpersonal processes are considered through
examination of the roles of power, politics, and interpersonal
conflict in organizations. Leadership behavior is examined, treating
the leader as a facilitator of organizational and member
effectiveness during the Balanced Scorecard Readiness
Quiz.
A number of
readings are generally identified to add value to the Balanced
Scorecard Readiness Quiz. These (and suggested reading dates) are
listed on the reading list of the Balanced Scorecard Readiness Quiz
topics. Many of these readings are from applied business
publications, while others just include the basics of the
concept. Others
important topics and subjects are prepared specifically for this
Balanced Scorecard Readiness Quiz. A transcript of each
"lecture" should also be available for each topic covered in the
Balanced Scorecard Readiness Quiz.
